A lifetime devoted to cultivating potential.

With more than 30 years of experience in education, I have devoted my career to empowering students, strengthening families, and building meaningful partnerships within communities. Education has never simply been my profession—it has been my purpose, my passion, and my lifelong commitment.

A Career Built on Service

Throughout my career, I have served in a variety of educational leadership and instructional roles, helping students of all backgrounds overcome challenges, discover their strengths, and reach their full potential. My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education, a Master's degree in Administration and Supervision, and a Master's degree in Elementary Education. I also hold certifications in Special Education (Behavior and Learning Disabilities), Middle School English, and Educational Administration at both the primary and secondary levels.

Recognition & Honors

Over the years, I have been honored to receive recognition for both educational excellence and leadership, including being named Teacher of the Year by the Berea Lions Club in 2019 and a finalist for BOLD Educator of the Year in 2024. These recognitions reflect not only my dedication to academic achievement, but also my commitment to creating supportive, student-centered environments where every child feels seen, valued, and capable of success.

A Defining Outcome

One of the most rewarding accomplishments of my career came during my time as a behavior teacher, where 95% of my students successfully transitioned from self-contained classrooms into less restrictive general education environments. Beyond the classroom, I remained actively involved in their educational journeys through middle and high school—monitoring progress, supporting families, and ensuring students continued receiving the guidance and resources needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Leading Dream Preparatory Academy

Today, I proudly serve as the Director of Dream Preparatory Academy, where I continue to lead with purpose, compassion, and vision. In this role, I mentor educators, support student achievement, monitor academic and social-emotional growth, and cultivate strong relationships between schools, families, and the surrounding community. I also lead community outreach initiatives, Lunch & Learn programs, and collaborative partnerships that provide families with access to educational resources, basic needs support, and opportunities for long-term socioeconomic growth.

The Heart of the Work

At the heart of my work is a simple belief: education is about far more than academics. It is about building relationships, inspiring confidence, and recognizing not only where students are today, but who they are capable of becoming tomorrow. I believe the most successful educational environments are rooted in collaboration among educators, families, and communities—and for over three decades, those relationships have remained the foundation of every student success story I've been privileged to be a part of.

"Education is about far more than academics. It is about building relationships, inspiring confidence, and recognizing not only where students are today, but who they are capable of becoming tomorrow."
